It all started in Rotorua, New Zealand in 1985, when Skyline introduced the world to a brand-new kind of thrill: the gravity-fuelled Luge (or as we know it in Calgary, Downhill Karting). What began as a single track has since grown into a global adventure loved by millions.
A second Luge opened in Queenstown in 1998, then the Luge went international, from Canada and Singapore, to Korea, Malaysia, and beyond. Along the way, we’ve built longer tracks, opened epic new locations, and brought the joy of of the thrill to families, thrill-seekers, and first-timers across the world.
In June 2025 we hit 100 million rides worldwide!
First Luge opens in Rotorua, New Zealand (1985)

Skyline Luge Singapore opens it's doors (2005)
Calgary joins the family with a 1.8km long track (2013)
